I Love Flowers. Those three words that perfectly summarise my greatest passion – Great British Gardens. I love small and big flowers, winter flowers, spring flowers, the summer flowering extravaganza, flowering shrubs, flowering trees…
It's not unusual to find me with my camera out, taking a quick snap of a lovely Hollyhock popping out of someone's garden, or even the first crocus on a green lawn; not to forget that late autumn frost bitten rose which effortlessly puts me in a Christmassy mood… My obsession with Garden Design, and Garden Design Ideas takes me to many weird and wonderful places, in search of my Magic Flower.
But it’s far too early to be talking about Christmas. Instead, I thought I would give a special mention to this amazing Petunia, the “Night Sky”, on our VoucherShares Unusual and Interesting products Review.
When I first saw this incredible flower in the
Thompson & Morgan catalogue, my heart skipped a bit. Petunias can be a great addition to your garden because of their massive variety of colours and their lovely sweet scent - enjoyable for both us, and the bees. But this didn't look like Petunia at all. This was something from another planet… And, yes, I am partial to the
Space Odyssey,
Star Wars, the lot… But, back to Earth, I had to have a peace of the
Night Sky in my garden. And here it was!
The Petunias arrived in the post on time, as was specified in the delivery email, and in a very good condition. This image gives you some idea of what to expect when you order Post Plugs plants from Thompson & Morgan.
I took them out of the box and planted them into the pots that I use for window baskets. I usually put a few individual pots inside the window baskets, this way I can change the window basket flowers more often depending on the season. Just take the old pots out and pop the new pots in when the flowers are ready for show.
And here is my very own Starry Night Sky right in my garden:
An amazing symphony of dark purple velvety flowers, mostly covered with little “stars” with the occasional full dark purple flower and some larger moon, light-kissed, petals in a mix. A True Star Gazing display right in your back garden with the added benefit of a beautiful sweet scent. Enjoy!
