As the majority of us will not be able to go out to our favourite spots this New Years Eve, we have 10 ideas to help make meeting 2021 from the comfort of your own home more exciting.
10 ideas for your New Year's Eve a home
1. Choose a theme.
Whether you are on your own or with others, choosing a theme for your night will bring some fun. My top party themes are: casino, disco, and neon!
2. Get the snacks in.
Are you a cheese board fan? I certainly am. In fact, I think I am 90% cheese after Christmas. But that will not stop me. You can choose your favourite selection of food and get a few bits laid out for the night. Choose your favourite food selection or if possible, get a few food bits to fit your chosen party theme.
3. Pick your poison.
What’s your favourite drink? Is it a soft drink, non-alcoholic or maybe alcoholic, pick something to toast at midnight and welcome the New Year with.
4. Tune into some fireworks.
May that be on TV or in your back garden, see 2020 out with a bang!
5. Connect with your friends and family via video call.
If you are not able to see everyone you may want to see at this time, why not organise a zoom countdown?
6. Dress up.
Because why not? If you have a theme make sure you dress up accordingly or otherwise just dress up in your favourite outfit–or maybe just your comfiest PJs?
7. Countdown.
Set your timer for 23:55pm and get yourself ready for the countdown. Don’t forget to tune in to BBC one to watch the yearly display in London!
8. Make a resolution or two.
The age old resolution challenge–how long will you be able to hold your resolution for.? Tips for your resolutions, give yourself a time frame, be realistic and don’t be too hard on yourself– this year has been an extra tricky one for us all so cut yourself some slack.
9. Watch your favourite film.
Kill time until midnight by watching a movie– just don’t forget to set an alarm so you don’t miss the countdown!
10. DIY spa.
If none of these ideas take your fancy, grab a bathbomb, your favourite skincare mask, a glass of whatever you fancy and pamper yourself - New Year, New You!
And all that's left for me to say is Happy New Year to all of our readers and customers! Thank you all for supporting us throughout this challenging year. Hears to a better year than the one we say goodbye to.
