In essence games night has become the most fun night of the week, while all other nights mainly consist of wine and Netflix.
Here are some games that have been doing the rounds of late and have become a firm favourite amongst our Saturday night quiz group set. All games are for 4 or more to play during lock down.
Linkee
Linkee is a fab triva game and one I hadn’t heard of until lock down. Linkee reviews are great, I simply cannot get enough of it on a Saturday night at the moment! I’ve not laughed so much for a long time. It’s a bit like Trivial Pursuit but much faster paced and more upbeat. Each round takes minutes so keeps everyone on their toes. The host has to ask four questions on the back of the card. Each player then writes down the answer and when you can see a link between the answer you have to shout ‘linkee’ prior to stating your guess. If correct you get a point.
The thing I love most is that is THE most simple game to play on Zoom yet the funniest and most engaging!
Waterstones offers free delivery over £20 so is a great place to buy Linkee from.
Hamleys offers kids Linkee which I have yet to try but have high hopes for!
Bingo
Bingo is one of many great games to play on zoom! It actually doesn’t get much easier. You can buy bingo cards from Baker Ross and you will need a nominated caller or you could play a movie or TV show bingo game that you have all watch.
Baker Ross offers loads of stuff to do during lock down including arts and crafts for the kids and adults. Baker Ross gets great product reviews so are a definite brand to be trusted.
Count down
You've played along on TV, now you can enjoy your favourite quiz show with family and friends on Zoom. I checked Count Down board game reviews and couldn’t find a bad one so I thought it was a no brainer! I bought this to play as a family challenge last Christmas but it only came out of the box in lockdown and it has certainly been worth the money.
You get the pressure of the countdown clock testing you mental ability to come up with words and mental maths which makes you relate to the pressure the contestants are under on TV, well Zoom is a bit like TV! It is also a great bit of pressurised fun but a learning tool at the same time. I love the pressure and music which counts you down with the music playing.
Bargain Max offers Count Down with £10 off at the time of writing this.
Dobble
Dobble is fast-paced and requires a very sharp eye. My little boy got the Spot it! Dobble game for his 5th Birthday and it’s a firm favourite for all ages. I still haven’t got my head around how clever it is! It’s a perfect game to play on Zoom during lock down. One person has to own the set and they need to hold up two cards, simply reveal one card, then another. Whoever spots the symbol in common on both cards claims the first card, then another card is revealed for players to search, and so on. Whoever has collected the most cards when the 55-card deck runs out wins!
Waterstones offers Dobble Spot it! (traditional Dobble), Dobble Star Wars, Dobble 123 and Harry Potter Dobble.
Again Dobble Reviews all come up trumps so if you’re in any doubt about my recommendation it wont be hard to find another equally glowing Dobble review!
